From London to the remote landscapes of Loch Fyne, here’s how our team delivered excellence, one mouthful at a time.

When it comes to production, every detail matters. Netflix’s The Diplomat, Season 2 was no exception. This isn’t just about coffee and snacks—it’s about creating an experience that fuels productivity and supports the needs of a discerning cast and crew. From London to the remote landscapes of Loch Fyne, here’s how our team delivered excellence, one mouthful at a time.

Location, Duration & Logistics

Sunrise on Loch Fyne

This season was a journey—literally. Set against the scenic backdrops of London, Wiltshire, and Scotland, The Diplomat’s second season brought its own set of logistical demands. What should have been a standard schedule turned into a 14-month marathon, with a significant pause due to industry strikes.

During an intense two-week shoot along Loch Fyne, the team faced its first major challenge: rural Scotland lacks quick supplier access. So, we loaded our vans in London with essential stock and partnered with local suppliers to fill any gaps on-site. The advance planning paid off, keeping service seamless despite the remote setting.

Meeting Production’s Needs

With a core crew of 150 that could surge on days with extra crowd scenes, flexibility was critical. Daily shifts meant we needed to be prepared for fluctuating numbers. Midway through production, a severe nut allergy prompted an immediate overhaul of our menu to ensure a nut-free environment—a shift the team implemented without missing a beat.

Our commitment to sustainable practices was also top of mind. As an albert certified supplier, we exclusively used compostable Biocups and disposables and recycled coffee grounds maintaining high sustainability standards without sacrificing quality.

This commitment to sustainability was matched only by the dedication of the fantastic cast & crew, who became like family over such a long shoot. Special thanks to the locations teams, whose hard work and coordination made it possible to serve everyone, no matter the setting.

Overcoming Unexpected Hurdles

Not everything went smoothly.

Just before we headed to Wiltshire, our chef ruptured her ACL—a major setback just as the production entered one of its busiest phases. Determined to keep things moving, Emily rallied extra support in the kitchen and braved the journey with a knee brace. With Graham, Sinead and additional baristas pitching in, we managed to keep up the quality and momentum, adapting schedules and duties to ensure service was uninterrupted.

Customised Menus & Innovative Service

To streamline efficiency, we introduced grab-and-go hand-held options that required minimal packaging. This strategy reduced both waste and costs, allowing savings to be reinvested into quality ingredients.

Our goal was not only to serve but to create a snacking experience that respected individual preferences and reduced waste. From vegan to gluten-free , the selection of snacks was tailored to suit varied dietary needs.

Freshly baked sweet and savoury snacks were prepared daily, ensuring both variety and freshness for the team, while cutting down on spoilage and maximising quality.

SERIES 2 stats

• 49,050 drinks served

• 220kg fresh ginger juiced

• 4270 litres of plant & dairy milk poured

• 1744 eggs cracked

• 373kg coffee beans ground

Results & Feedback

The team’s dedication didn’t go unnoticed. In the words of one Ali Ahn: “Shot Stop were the heart of the season. Literal shots of caffeine and joy” With glowing reviews from both cast & crew, our hard work was validated by the best feedback of all: an invitation to return for Season 3.

Notable Moments

Rufus Sewell relied on our ginger shots to kick start his day, while Allie Ahn developed a love-hate relationship with our freshly baked treats. Little connections like these fuelled the camaraderie on set.

Looking Ahead

As we gear up for future productions, our focus remains clear: adapting and delivering unmatched service quality. The Diplomat was more than a project—it was proof of what’s possible when adaptability and passion are uncompromised.

Here’s to another season of fueling creativity, one mouthful at a time.
